How we hire
Evidence of academic excellence or experience
For university students you must have completed the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme in the last three years with a 7 in the subject(s) you wish to tutor. For teachers you must either have IB teaching experience, or an intimate familiarity with the IB syllabus in addition to classroom experience in the subject you wish to tutor.
Mock session interview
After the interview stage, or as part of it, selected candidates will have to opportunity to ‘teach’ your interviewer a concept from their subject area(s). Here we’re looking to see how your academic experience and teaching intuition combine. We’re looking for enthusiastic, engaging tutors with superb communication skills with an innovative approach to our online learning environment.
Informal behavioural interview
If we’re interested in your background and experience, and we are looking to grow our tutor count in your area of expertise, we’ll be in touch. All short-listed candidates will have an informal ‘chat’ interview with our Head Tutor. At this stage, we’re looking to see how you communicate, your motivations for working with IB Hub, and your fit for our company and style of tuition generally.
Onboarding and training
Successful candidates will be notified via phone call or email and our onboarding process will begin. You’ll also receive training in IB Hub procedures, pedagogical approaches, and using the online learning system. Additionally, we’ll be sure to keep your subject and syllabus knowledge up to date.
