Some FAQs about free trials

+What is a free trial session?

A free trial session is our way of letting prospective students see if IB Hub is a fit for them. Basically, our free trial sessions are a 45-minute version of our regular sessions with the same great tutors using our resources and online tutoring platform.

+What do you do in a free trial session?

Our tutors will shape the session around your requirements. Ultimately, we aim for the trial session to emulate the goals of our regular sessions: namely, being highly targeted, efficient, and useful in bridging a learning gap or excelling in an area of opportunity. However, if there’s something more specific you want to cover, like an IA, EE or past paper, just raise it at the start of the session, or let our Academic Consultant team know and we’ll pass it on to your tutor.

+Is it worth having a free trial session?

Absolutely! Our free trials are no obligation which means there’s nothing for you to lose. We try to make trial sessions are useful and targeted as possible to give you actionable advise and guidance.

+I have a busy schedule, when are your tutors available?

Our tutors have flexible availability throughout the week and on weekends. We're sure that we can find a time to cram into your busy schedule. In fact, one of the things our current students love most about online IB tutoring is that you can learn on your own terms from the comfort of home.

+Who are my IB Hub tutors? How are they qualified to teach me?

Our IB Hub tutors are high performing IB graduates who, on average, scored 42+/45 points with 7s in the Higher Level of the subject in which they tutor. Additionally, our team of tutors includes experienced teachers with years of IB experience. All in all, our tutors are chosen for their expertise, excellent communication skills, and passion for helping students achieve their goals. Unlike other agencies our tutors are trained in-house, selected in a highly competitive process, and focus solely on delivering high-quality IB tutoring services. Learn more about our rigorous tutor selection process [here][2].

+Do I have to continue with IB Hub after a free trial session?

No. We totally understand that tutoring is all about your fit with the tutor and style of tuition. If you find that at the end of your session you aren’t interested in continuing sessions with us, that’s more than fine.

+Can I have a free trial session in more than one subject?

Unfortunately not. We suggest you choose a trial session in the subject you finding most challenging or is most relevant to upcoming deadlines (e.g. IAs, mocks etc.). If you’re looking for tutoring in multiple subjects you can be assured that our high standard of tuition is consistent across all tutors. Alternatively, let us know and we can book you in for a heavily discounted session in another subject.

+How do I continue after a free trial session?

We’ll be in contact after your session to get your feedback and thoughts on the trial. From there, our team will walk you through the next steps in the process, fee and booking information, and address any questions you might have. If you’ve had a session and haven’t yet received a call or email, please contact us.

+How does online IB tutoring work?

Our private IB tutoring sessions are conducted online via our web-based interactive whiteboard. Our platform has both audio, video, screenshare and collaborative document capacities which ensure an engaging experience. Our sessions are focused around your highest priorities and involve continuous goal setting, tracking and evaluation to target areas of growth. Learn more about how it works here.

+Do I need any special equipment or software to do online tutoring sessions?

No, nothing special. Our online whiteboard platform is accessible via your web browser with no additional downloads. We do recommend using headphones for the best audio experience, additionally you will need relatively stable internet speeds to ensure your connection doesn’t drop out. Some students prefer using digital graphic tablets (which can be found relatively inexpensively on Amazon) to interact more easily with the whiteboard but this is by no means essential.
